Indie rock that's stirring...
Smother.net
Indie rock that's stirring with cascading guitar textures and
a dense indie rock homage. Birdy's self-titled three-song EP
takes a nod from electronica ala the industrial rock bands of
the mid '90's and uses that influence to craft thick atmospheres
of synths, guitars, drums, and bass. Vocally their singer is
quite unique—the kind of voice you instantly recognize. -

the kind of down mouth stuff suburban kids love...
Midwest Record
Buncha shoegazers test the water with an ep that let's them put
their ideas out front and see what comes back. With the kind
of down mouth stuff suburban kids love, if they stay on this
tangent, pissed off rebels without a cause everywhere will really
take them to heart.
destined for great things...

Birdy are deceptively named, they rock pretty hard on this brief
EP. Opener "Suffer That" sees Dav Hoof growl like a
trouper while Greg Lopez lays down classic rifts on guitar. It's
like recent Queens of the Stone Age. "Tossin' and Turnin'" continues
to rock but more subtly and with a great tune. They seem like
a tight knit unit and can really play. Birdy seem destined for
great things on this evidence and their debut is due next year
and should be a treat.
